because i was asked! yaayyy!!
1C cooked oatmeal (i used steel cut irish oats)
2C (about) whole wheat flour
2T soft butter
2T honey
1T baking powder
2/3C milk (yougurt/ buttermilk ok add 1t baking soda for extra oomph)
dried fruit (i used cranberries, apricots and figs)
combine oatmeal, butter and honey in bowl. add flour and baking powder, then dried fruit. slowly add milk to make sticky dough.
i used a 9" greased pie plate, but if dough is workable can be dropped or rolled out and cut like buscuits. brush with milk, butter or drizzle with honey.
bake in a 400* oven about 20mins. until golden brown and firm.
if you make the dough "dry" enough and bake until hard makes great dog treats!! just NO garlic, onions, avacado or grapes. dried fruits, meats, carrots, peas, spinich even carob are ok.
enjoy!!!

just tasted warm out of the oven. YUM!!
