work and all that jazz

i started my new job thursday. and its been interesting. i had to sign a non-disclosure agreement, and if i quit or get terminated, i cant work in an ice cream parlour for a year afterwards. lol. but i am learning some things. i can say that everything is imported, which is nice. its really good product. so come see me at Frost!

my back and ankles are screaming in pain, they dont have floormats and i dont move around much. we gelato chefs dont have to do dishes, which is nice, and i dont smell like the fryer when i get home. i have a  pretty stable schedule too thanks to school and i only work at the tanque verde shoppe. and i get free gelato.

school starts up again next monday. i have the second accounting class and cost control, which is independant study. i had something similar, but since its independant study, i decided i was ok with that, and chef todd is going to make it interesting for me. hopefully i can help patsy- its her 4th go round. i'm also gonna seriously re-work my capstone. only in presenting and the final product, now that i have money. so that its all uniform.

i also started the 30 day song challenge. i'm gonna post my choices every day here. jeff and i are alos doing fantasy baseball again on facebook. please join if ya want. i'm hoping third times the charm for opening that can of whoop ass on jeff. i was sooo close last year, till all the good pitchers took a giant dump late in the season. yes, it really is all about the pitching.

and since i've been lax on sharing recipies lately, heres one for my shepards pie. jeff doesnt like carrots and i dont like peas, so its a little different. i also use just one pot- a dutch oven- to cut down on dishes.

Shepard's Pie

1 1/2- 2# ground beef
3# potatoes
corn
green beans
2 cans roasted garlic cream of mushroom soup
1pkg kerrygold irish cheese- we like the cheddar or dubliner.
french's crispy onions

first make the mashed potatoes. then i use the same pot to brown the beef-strain. next mix the green beans with the soup- dont dilute, just use straight out of the can.

in bottom of dutch oven put the beef, then corn, green beans, and top with mashed potatoes. i bake at 350* for 30 mins. then i top with the shredded cheese and onions and bake just to melt the cheese.

jeff says it was the best by far, and the cheese was like crack.
